All puppies purchased must be taken to the Buyer's veterinarian within the first 48 hours (2) days after receiving the puppy, proof must be provided within 10 days by mail. If this is not done, the health guarantee becomes invalid and Buyer assumes all responsibility for the health of the puppy. (It should be noted that diarrhea is common among puppies that have been moved to a new environment. This is normal and is not covered under the health guarantee. This will normally subside as the puppy gets used to its new home and surroundings.) It is necessary for the Buyer to complete the schedule of inoculations on-time in order to protect the puppy's health, and for the guarantee to remain valid. We recommend that you consult your veterinarian early about the prevention of heart worms in your puppy. It is required that the Buyer will have yearly exams for the puppy including heart worm detection, fecal examinations, and all vaccinations required by your veterinarian.
Luxating Patellas must be diagnosed during the initial veterinarian examination and reported to breeder within 72 hours of arrival. Due to many factors that can affect the condition, breeder cannot be responsible for luxating patellas that are not evident at the time of the initial veterinarian examination.
Leg-Perthes is normally diagnosed around 10 months of age. If the dog is diagnosed with leg perthes and surgery is required a biopsy must be performed on the femoral head to determine for a fact that it is leg perthes and not an injury, as an injury can mimic leg perthes. If the puppy/dog has injured itself in any way in the hip area we will not cover any surgery.
Anesthetic deaths are not covered. Anytime an animal undergoes anesthesia the owner and veterinarian assume liability. Many times anesthetic deaths go without a specific diagnosis due to the many variables that are involved.
Heart Murmurs should be diagnosed during the initial veterinarian examinations and I will not ship puppy if my veterinarian examination finds this condition. Heart murmurs can occur for many reasons and usually do not affect the pet's quality of life. Any other heart murmur that is diagnosed after the initial veterinarian examination must be affecting the day-to-day life of the pet and require daily medication to qualify for replacement puppy.
Behavioral problems are extremely complex in nature with many factors influencing the overall behavior of the pet. The main influence of behavior is the home environment and the owners. Breeder is not responsible for any behavioral problems.
Testicles on male puppies are not guaranteed. Customer will be notified prior to delivery if 1 or both testicles are not present. Puppy is sold as a pet.
Hypoglycemia (sugar drop) is not guaranteed. This is common in all small breeds of dogs. All necessary information is provided to the new owner and this becomes their responsibility.
Worms and parasites-Every effort will be made to ensure that none are present in the new puppy. Due to life stages of these hosts, I cannot guarantee there will never be any present in the puppy. These hosts can include worms, coccidia and Guardia. These can be brought on due to the move, stress, change of diet, too much handling and not enough quiet time and not eating properly. These conditions are treatable and are not covered under this guarantee.
Ear mites and ear infection-Every effort will be made to ensure that no ear mites or ear infection are present in the new puppy. Due to life stages of these hosts, I cannot guarantee there will never be any present in the puppy.
Colds and Influenza-the puppy will have a veterinarian examination before transporting. I cannot guarantee against what the puppy may contract in air or ground transport.
Mortality of a puppy will require a full necropsy (not partial) along with a full blood toxicology report to determine if the breeder is responsible for replacing the puppy.
If within the first year of the puppy's life, it is found to have a life-threatening heart, liver, or kidney congenital defect, send a detailed letter of explanation from your licensed veterinarian as to the nature of the defect and how it was found. Breeder must be notified at once at the onset of the problem. Breeder's veterinarian will interpret the report and if he concurs, then a replacement puppy will be given. No refund, in part or in full, will be given. The owner will then qualify for a replacement puppy when one becomes available.
Minor defects that are of little consequence for the puppy's health are not covered. Such as: a minor under bite, over bite, or a hernia. Obvious hernias, if any, will be repaired before shipping. Hypoglycemia is not covered, which accrues when they have been subjected to STRESS. The stress usually causing this condition is: 1-Over-handling young puppies and not letting them get enough rest and sleep. 2-A puppy refuses to eat for over a period of 8 hours due to change of home and/or food. 3-Exposure to low room temperatures for a period of time or sleeping in drafts.
All veterinarian charges, incurred by the purchaser, are the sole responsibility of the purchaser and will under no circumstances be paid by the breeder, including all spay or neuter charges. The breeder guarantees a healthy companion pet, but does not guarantee adult size, color, and temperament, nor does breeder guarantee for breeding.
Puppy has received the first wormings and vaccinations necessary for its protection to date. You must take the vaccination record we give you to your veterinarian so that he knows what vaccinations were given. Guarantee is null and void if veterinarian examination is not done in time given. If puppy is found to have a health problem at it's initial veterinarian examination and purchaser opts to treat puppy instead breeder is not responsible for any expenses incurred or for the death of the puppy. This guarantee does not include any illness due to ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals, or physical injury. This guarantee is void in the invent of an indeterminable or inconclusive diagnosis and if puppy has not been kept current on worming, vaccinations and scheduled veterinary visits. Proof of all veterinarian records must be provided if is claim is made.
Surgical intervention to resolve any medical defects under the following conditions: all needed surgery will only be performed following consultation with my veterinarian who will determine whether he or an associate would normally perform the needed procedure or if the procedure is even needed. Should surgery be required and agreed to by the consulting veterinarians I will pay up to 50% of the purchase price of the puppy or 50% of the surgical cost, whichever is the lesser amount. This is a one time occurrence.
To qualify for replacement puppy a second opinion from an unassociated veterinarian is required followed by consultation between my veterinarian and your veterinarian. If a puppy is shipped back for any reason the buyer is responsible for shipping cost.
This document must be signed, dated and sent back to the breeder with a health certificate from your licensed veterinarian for guarantee to be honored. If this is not sent back within 10 days the guarantee is void.

Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar)
A big word for a BIG problem in small puppies.
Hypoglycemia is a disorder of the central nervous system and is a direct response to the lack of adequate food. Dehydration comes from lack of water. Hypoglycemia can occur without warning when a puppy goes to a new home, misses a meal, or doesn't eat full meals, becomes chilled, overtired, or exhausted from too much handling or playing. It occurs mostly in toy breeds, but it can also occur in the larger breeds as well. Signs to look for are depression, weakness, being wobbly or jerky, the head appears to be tilted to either the left or right side, the neck appears stiff and in a locked position, the body may soon appear the same way, and the teeth may be clamped tightly together. This can lead to convulsions, seizures, or coma which can result in death! Remember, this is only a puppy. Compare it to an infant child, which requires extra care. You would not wake your baby up to show your friends or neighbors, so do not wake your puppy up, as it needs rest too. This is important to your puppy's health.
Treatment: Once a puppy's sugar drops you must act fast! The blood levels of glucose must be restored immediately! Do no hesitate, your puppy's life is at risk. Treatment by oral administration of certain glucose containing electrolyte fluids is very important. I use Nutra Drops, it gives quick results and gets into bloodstream within seconds. If you don't have that on hand, you may mix honey or white Karo syrup with water and place on the puppies tongue with a dropper or just place some on your finger and rub on the puppies gums. Do not put excessive amounts in the puppy's mouth, as the puppy can choke. If the puppy does not improve with 10 minutes, contact your vet immediately! This is not something that can wait until the vet opens the following morning! I always recommend if you ever have any concerns, questions, or worries don't hesitate to call your vet even if the puppy is doing better. Once a puppy's sugar drops, it is much more likely for him/her to have another episode. It can take weeks to build back up afterwards. Make sure your baby is eating and drinking often. The first stages baby food beef, turkey or chicken can be fed.
Make sure your puppy eats at regular times to keep his/her sugar up. That is the best way to try to prevent this from happening.
